TOURNAMENTS

Tournaments - 2016
There is a change in the tournament format this year which will provide more open court
time. The goal is to have each event provide meaningful and fair competition AND to have
the tournaments completed in a timely manner. The tournament Chairperson is David
Murachver (murdav17@verizon.net.)
The Club Championship Tournaments are:
Women's Singles June 25/26
Men's Singles June 25/26
Women's Doubles July 9/10
Men's Doubles July 9/10
Mixed Doubles July 16/17
The fee breakdown for those tournaments listed above is:
One event $10
Two events $20
Three events $25
The deadline to enter is May 21. Each category is limited to 16 participants/teams. A player
of any age, ability and appropriate gender may enter these tournaments. Gift cards will be
given as prizes to the finalist and winner.
Rules for the five Club Championship Tournaments:
The Club Championship event scoring will be the same as last year with no-ad scoring and 10-point tie breaker in lieu of a third set until the finals. The finals will be ad scoring; the players may decide on whether to play a 10-point tie break or to play a third set.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We will also host six other Club Round Robin Tournaments. Deadlines/dates are listed below. There is no fee to enter. A small prize (hat/water bottle) will be given to each finalist and winner. Each round robin is limited to 16 participants/teams and must be played and completed on the weekends listed:
Men’s B doubles round robin June 4
Women’s over 45 singles round robin June 18
Men’s over 70 singles round robin July 16/17
Women’s B doubles round robin and Men’s over 45 singles round robin July 23/24
Mixed B doubles round robin July 30/31
The deadline to enter the round robins is May 21.
Rules for the Round Robin Tournaments:
The match format will depend on the number of entries. For example, we might decide on an eight-game pro set per round or two out of three sets with no-ad scoring and a 10-point breaker in lieu of a third set per round. In the round robin events with a large number of entries, the finals will most likely be played on Sunday; those events with small draws may begin and finish on Saturday.
MEMBERS MAY ONLY ENTER UP TO THREE EVENTS IN TOTAL, INCLUDING THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEYS AND ROUND ROBINS. EACH EVENT IS LIMITED TO 16 PARTICIPANTS/TEAMS.
The committee will review the round robin entry list after May 21 and may adjust deadlines if required to avoid canceling events.
